CAE Rive-Nord: A key partner for communities

Saint-Jérôme, September 25, 2023 – CAE Rive-Nord proudly presented its 2022–2023 results at the Annual General Meeting on September 22. The year saw the organization deploy its three business lines (local economic development, support and financing) on a broader scale, with community projects at the top of its priorities.

Local economic development benefiting communities

Always mindful of its action plan and strategic planning, the CAE has created many partnerships to enrich communities and address their challenges. As this was the first year a resource was assigned to local economic development, this business line was one of the priorities for 2022–2023. Raising awareness of this new mandate throughout the territory helped create links and opportunities for collaboration with various organizations. The CAE is proud to say that it is on the right track.

  • Local intervention measure

In addition to maintaining a strong team presence in the community, $45,000 was invested in 5 local projects: Es-tu sur ton X en tant qu’entrepreneur?, the Rendez-vous bioalimentaire des Laurentides, the Sommet de l’innovation, the Démystifier le sociofinancement conference and the Grand rendez-vous entrepreneurial des Laurentides.

  • The Virage Vert program—accelerating sustainable development

The CAE has provided over $84,000 in non-repayable contributions to 6 projects to help businesses improve their environmental and economic performance.

  • Programme d’aide aux petites entreprises touristiques rurales (PAPETR)

7 small tourism businesses benefited from more than $270,000 in non-repayable contributions, enabling them to adapt their products or services or develop new ones and get back on the road to recovery.

Helping businesses grow through support and financing
  • Support and training

The CAE provided more than 1,280 hours of support to 122 businesses, 382 hours of group training to 36 businesses and 60 hours of support from an external consultant.

  • Financing

More than $836,000 invested in businesses in our territory through various funds, with $90,000 via Youth Strategy.

An invaluable board of directors and a dedicated team

This was Luc Jalbert’s last year as president after six years in the role. His commitment to the CAE, and especially his help, support and willingness to listen was warmly applauded and recognized. He passed the torch to Alexandre Aubin, co-owner of Saint-Jérôme company Gaspor. Next year, CAE Rive-Nord can count on an extremely dedicated board of directors that cares deeply about the interests of the organization and our communities.

With expert guidance from General Director Marie-Pierre Guindon and her team, the strategic directions and decisions that emerged from this meeting will be carried out successfully. The CAE is achieving great things, and every effort will be made to continue to enrich communities
