Building on solid foundations

CAE Rive-Nord releases its 2021–2022 results

CAE Rive-Nord proudly presented its 2021–2022 results at the Annual General Meeting on September 22. At the first in-person meeting in more than two and a half years, there was no shortage of smiling faces, with everyone excited and positive about the future.

Reinventing ourselves and much more…

Since its inception in 1984, the CAE’s mission has been to meet the demands of its communities through a single business line: financing. However, we realized our organization struggled to meet the needs of the Lower Laurentians. Therefore, when renewing the agreement with Canada Economic Development, the Board of Directors requested that CAE Rive-Nord be recognized as an SADC, with the same financial means and services that an SADC offers.

Since this change of mission, CAE Rive-Nord has overcome an ongoing lack of financing and put all its energy into delivering its three business lines: financing, support, and local development.

While still dealing with pandemic-related constraints over the past year, the CAE has defined its new organization. We initially set out to create the basis of an organization capable of fulfilling all its obligations and ambitions. Given the need to look far ahead, we opted to build a solid foundation through strategic planning and a bold action plan.

After all the reflection and research that went into to preparing this plan, and despite the labour shortage, the CAE is proud of these results. Here it is in brief:

  • Local economic development

A strong community presence and $30,800 in non-repayable contributions for local projects.

  • Financing

More than $896,000 invested in businesses in our territory through various funds.

  • Support and consulting services

More than 560 hours of support and consulting.

$208,030 enabling 14 companies to benefit from specialist consultancy in structural technical assistance.

An invaluable Board of Directors and a dedicated team

Lastly, under the leadership of Luc Jalbert, CAE Rive-Nord has an extremely dedicated Board of Directors that cares deeply about the interests of the organization and our communities. With expert guidance from General Director Marie-Pierre Guindon and her team, the strategic directions and decisions that emerged from this meeting will be carried out with foresight and success. Now that’s what we call “Building on a solid foundation.”
