When quality has a name!

Gaspor, a family-run business founded in 2004 and located in Saint-Jérôme, is the only company in Quebec specializing in suckling pigs. This premium product is the pride and passionate of owners Alexandre and Nicholas Aubin.

The company controls every step of the chain from farm to table—breeding, production, processing, cutting, marketing and distribution—guaranteeing consistent quality in its products. The end product is easily traceable as it comes directly from the family farm in Prévost.

Since 2014, CAE has had the opportunity to support Gaspor financially and has worked closely with the president, Alexandre, to help the company grow. According to him, despite the business going through a few difficult stretches, applying for financial support from CAE was always straightforward.

“I believe in CAE and what it contributes in the field. It fills a real need for companies,” he said.

A unique product loved by restaurant owners

With a team of 16 employees, the company produces nearly 3,000 piglets a year. The majority of production is destined for restaurants and hotels, with roughly 30% exported to the United States and even Japan. Renowned chefs, such as Normand Laprise of the restaurant Le Toqué, speak highly of the product, describing it as “an unforgettable impression on the most discerning palates.”

Local consumers are also well served. Gaspor has an online store where you can order a range of products and have them delivered to your door. If you live nearby, a small shop is ready to welcome you at their processing plant in Saint-Jérôme. You can visit from Tuesday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The flexibility to reposition itself

The pandemic presented significant challenges, prompting Gaspor to review its business model, restructure operations and, above all, reposition itself in the high-end food market.

In the coming years, the company will be working to raise the profile of its exceptional product, increasing its reach even further so that more people can enjoy its quality.

They also have a number of exciting projects in the works… which Alexandre unfortunately has to keep under wraps for now. But odds are it’s going to be something tasty!
